At Teknomek, we understand the pressures you are under and as always, we are working hard to support you and give you solutions, rather than problems.
Business operations
Our manufacturing here in Norwich is uninterrupted so you continue to have reliable on time delivery. So far, we have kept up with increased demand and even faster turnaround of urgent orders.
We are now experiencing much higher demand for some items, with lead times being longer than our standard 10 working days so we are sourcing alternative products that satisfy our high standards. Our Customer service team will advise you at the point of quote or order.
Coronavirus Kit
We're holding stock of selected products that support you in the fight against Corona, so they are ready to ship rather than wait. We’re also sourcing and rapidly developing additional products to aid social distancing, if you have a specific requirement, ask our customer service team.
Staff welfare
We are continuing to follow Government guidance and in addition we have contingencies in place to maintain staffing levels and are taking multiple steps to ensure the safety and comfort of staff including multiple anti-bacterial dispensers in high traffic areas, new hands-free bins/waste bags and are constantly monitoring the situation to ensure personal safety.
Site visits & surveys
We have a wealth of technology so we can virtually join you on site. This enables you to provide a good idea of your requirements and where used. Just ask if you’d like a virtual site visit.
Deliveries
Our drivers will only collect and deliver in their area. As our pallet company ships to a depot network, no driver will collect from an infected area to deliver to an uninfected one.
Finally, we are constantly monitoring the situation to ensure we can be reactive, protecting you and your teams. As a UK manufacturer we are closely monitoring advice from the government. Any changes or updates we will update this blog and share on social media and via email so you can stay up to date with the situation.

Coronavirus update – 7th April 2020
Across Teknomek we have experienced new challenges presented by Covid-19. While our customers have seen the same on-time delivery and clear communications, there’s no doubt that our Brexit planning has massively helped, (or we’ve quickly learned)!
Business operations
Ceaseless checking of supply chain stock for our Norwich factory revealed some potential risks for 4 weeks to 6 months’ time - far enough away for us to manage them out so the risk has been mitigated, so no panic buying of our stock is needed.
Our suppliers have been true to form in their partnership approach and worked with us on expected lead times and potential delays, with some managing to deliver early. Each time there is a risk, we’ve kept in communication to maintain the service.
We can’t report on overall team spirit, as there’s no bumping into people from other teams, yet responsiveness to urgent customer needs remains superb.
Site Surveys
There’s no doubt that technology has massively helped us, and we’ve got our 1st virtual site survey scheduled – watch this space!
We are currently still working at full capacity and it is business as normal.
Coronavirus update – Tuesday 24th March 2020
Teknomek remains open to provide hygienic equipment to the UK Food and Pharmaceutical industries which are essential for the safe production of food and drugs. Before the Prime Minister's announcement on Monday 23rd March, we had already adopted procedures and practices that maintain social distancing whilst at the workplace to ensure the safety of our team.
- We have split our teams into shifts that are separated by time & morning/afternoon; day-on/day-off
- We have segregated areas in the factory with locked doors to ensure that teams cannot mix
- We have introduced home-working and paperless working where possible to reduce the risk of contact
- We have separated individual workstations to ensure a minimum distance of 2-3 meters is maintained
We will continue to provide this service as long as we can whilst ensuring as far as possible a safe working environment for our team.

We are managing our supply chain so we can continue to manufacture here in the UK so you continue to have reliable on-time delivery. We have increased stock that we source from elsewhere, so we are confident that we will be able to keep up with increased demand including next day delivery for risk-management products.

We’ve set in place a series of contingency plans so that customer service, production, and warehouse can continue to deliver the right service.
Site visits & surveys
Our staff that go off site to come and meet you have adopted a wealth of technology including GoToMeeting conferencing, Microsoft teams video calling and WhatsApp. This enables you to contact us through a multitude of platforms so we can get a good idea of your requirements and we can show you products. Any physical meeting can be changed to a phone or video call if required.
