Hygienox & Kubik

Teknomek has been using the Hygienox® brand since 1997 to convey the hygienic properties of stainless steel to its customers.

Teknomek itself was established in the late 1980's as a manufacturer of stainless steel equipment for the meat industry. In 1997, Hygienox was created to acquire SLW engineering, a formally independent engineering business from which Teknomek sourced its products.

Since then, Teknomek has invested heavily in plant and machinery to create a state-of-the-art manufacturing operation. Investments made include a new purpose built manufacturing facility in Norwich, laser steel profiling equipment and a leading edge Computer Aided Design (CAD) capability.

Customers have been benefiting from this foresight for some years now, with the result that the business has grown rapidly.

In 2008, the Teknomek group was acquired by A H Worth & Co. Ltd., a family-owned and run food and agriculture business. This has given the business access to significantly more development capital that is driving further expansion.

At the same time, A H Worth acquired Kubik Ltd., Teknomek’s sister company, which specialises in supply of stainless steel equipment to the Catering business.

Kubik’s business understood the specific requirements of the catering industry, as distinct from Teknomek’s core customer base. The merging of the two complementary businesses brings benefits through design and supply chain efficiencies that can be shared with the customer to deliver excellent value for money.
